Dashayane Lynette Dodd

September 17, 1997 — April 3, 2024

Dashayane Lynette Dodd, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend. She was born on September 17, 1997, in Los Angeles, CA, to Esther Kimberly Dodd. She was the fourth child out of five siblings and the only girl. She leaves behind her three loving brothers, Dewayne Williams, Dominque Williams, and Jessie Marsh, whom she loved unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Dodd, eldest brother, Darnell Davis, grandparents Allen I. Dodd and Jennie V. Dodd, Uncles Donald Green Sr. and Carl Allen Dodd Sr., and Cousin Carl Allen Dodd Jr and a host of other relatives. Dashayane was known by several affectionate nicknames, such as Dosh, Nurse Betty, Pudgy, and Baby Girl.

Dosh had recently purchased a pet turtle named Cashmere “Cash” Dodd, who was more than just a son (boy mom); he was her loyal service animal, providing her with comfort and companionship.

Dashayane was named after her aunt, Lynette Moton, who became her second mom. She was very loud and proud and made sure everyone knew this was a fact. Jerome Moton also stepped in and became a Father to Dashayane, whose upbringing was filled with love, laughter, and support.

Dashayane’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Pomona, California. She was involved in various ministries, including the choir, usher board, hospitality ministry, teens council, and praise team.

Dashayane graduated from Knight High School in May 2015. She went on to take classes at Antelope Valley College before switching gears as she pursued her passion for healthcare, earning a certificate in Pharmacy Technician in August 2018.

She had a wonderful life and found joy in the simple things, especially her love for arts and crafts. Whether she was creating shirts or posters for events or experimenting with makeup and hairstyling, Dashayane’s creativity knew no bounds. Dashayane’s favorite foods were Pizza and Enchiladas. She enjoyed going to Fixings, Boiling Crab, Bossa Nova, and El Torito. Dosh was also into fashion and loved stores like Fashion Nova, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters.

Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Dosh cherished spending time with her family and adored her pet turtle, who brought her endless happiness. Dosh is survived by her nieces Justice Williams, Nala Williams, Layla Williams, and Janiyah Marsh, who brought her great joy.

Dashayane's memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy of love and kindness endure in the hearts of those she touched.
